  16.  Introduction:
  17.  
  18.    There are actually three GAMES "hidden" on the Kenwood TM-741a Multiband
  19. Transceiver.  These are UNDOCUMENTED and I'm not exactly sure who originally
  20. found these games??..  (I came across a brief description of these hidden
  21. games on rec.radio.amateur.misc on UseNet, but no one had the complete
  22. original Post!)

  24.  How to access "Game Mode":
  25.  
  26.    1) Turn OFF the TM-741a.
  27.    2) Hold the [F] + [MUTE] and turn ON the TM-741a.
  28.  
  29.        (You should see:   -1-    -2-    -3-    on your display, you're now
  30. in "Game Mode"!!)
  31.  
  32.    3) Select the Game you wish to play by hitting the appropriate Band
  33. Select Button.  ( -1- = Band Sel 1 <far left>; -2- = Band Sel 2 <middle>;
  34. -3- = Band Sel 3 <far right> )
  35.  
  36.             -1-  ==>  SLOT MACHINE Game
  37.  
  38.             -2-  ==>  SPACE INVADERS Game
  39.  
  40.             -3-  ==>  MUSICAL KEYBOARD
  41.  
  42.    NOTE!  The [VFO] will always exit you to the Main Game Menu (-1- -2-
  43. -3-)..  The [MUTE] will normally Start the Game.

  45.  Game #1: SLOT MACHINE:
  46.  
  47.    To play...  Hit [MUTE] to start the numbers tumbling.  Starting from the
  48. left and proceeding to the right, hit the Band Select Buttons to stop each
  49. number!   If you don't get a 3-in-a-row match, the radio plays a sound and
  50. the game is over.  ([MUTE] to play again).  If you match 3-in-a-row,
  51. then...well I won't spoil it for you!.. (It's neat!!)

  53.    Remember; [VFO] to return to the Game Menu.

  55.  Game #2: SPACE INVADERS:

  57.    The Display...  You will see the following display:

  59.       000000   ------   0-0
  60.  
  61.      (Score) (Invaders) (Selected Number - Number of Lives Left)
  62.  
  63.    To play...   Hit the [LOW] key to begin.  The radio will then put a
  64. random number from 0 - 9 in the first position in the dashes.. ( 4----- )
  65. you must then use the [TONE] key to select the number the radio selected and
  66. then quickly hit the [MUTE] key to "fire" it.  The number will then
  67. disappear and a new one will appear!..  If you don't act fast, the number
  68. will move to the second dash and another random number will appear,
  69. ( 84---- )..  If you're not keeping up, eventually the numbers will reach
  70. then last dash line and you will lose a life!!.. (Once all lives are lost,
  71. the game is over!)  Also, you must "destroy" 30 numbers before moving onto
  72. the next round!..  Each round will start getting faster and faster!!.. So be
  73. prepared!!  (It really gets TOUGH!!)  All throughout the game it will keep
  74. score of how many "hits" you made.. (I believe it's 10 points a hit, I
  75. think!)..

  77.    Remember; Hit [VFO] to return to Game Menu.

  79.  Game #3: MUSICAL KEYBOARD:

  81.    I don't think this is actually a "Game"??..  What I've been able to
  82. figure out is that when you select this "game" the following message appears
  83. on the display:   Enjoy Sound Play
  84.  
  85.    At this point, the whole keypad on the face-plate of the TM-741a is a
  86. "Musical Keyboard"!!..  Try it, hit any of the keys, Band Select Buttons;
  87. Cont Sel Buttons; [MUTE]; [TONE]; [MHZ]; Etc...etc..etc...  (Except for the
  88. [VFO] key, that returns you to the Game Menu!)

  92.     Welp!.. That about all I know!.. Some other things you could try are:

  94.          [F] + [REV] (I think!) and Power ON.. (NOTE!!.. This MAY alter some
  95. of your memory!! SO write it all down in case you need to re-enter it!)

  97.            ...this will play some wierd tune on all of your Bands!!  It's
  98. actually kinda neat...

  100.    And one other.. (Which might be documented..??)

  102.          [F] + [MHZ] (I think!) and Power ON..

  104.            ...this will display a light EVERYTHING on the display!!!!!
